Rooted in Community. Driven by Care.
Uplift Behavioral Health Services Cares is a nonprofit behavioral health organization serving individuals, families, and communities across Greater Boston. We believe that access to quality mental health care is a right — not a privilege.
Our Mission
Why We Exist
To provide compassionate, culturally responsive behavioral health services to all people — regardless of their insurance status, income, or background — and to build a community where mental wellness is within everyone's reach. At Uplift Behavioral Health Services Cares, our mission is to improve access to essential behavioral health services and strengthen the overall well-being of individuals, families, students, and the communities we serve. We provide and support access to services including individual therapy, family therapy, medication management, Community Support Programs (CSP), Behavioral Substance Addiction Services (BSAS), and In-Home Therapy (IHT). We are committed to bridging the gap in mental health care by supporting individuals and families who are uninsured, underinsured, or experiencing financial hardship due to high co-pay costs and other barriers to receiving care. We believe everyone deserves access to quality, compassionate, and culturally responsive mental health services, regardless of their financial or insurance status. Our mission also extends to education, professional development, and workforce support. We recognize the importance of preparing the next generation of behavioral health professionals. Through our internship and educational support programs, we provide students with opportunities to gain meaningful hands-on experience, develop professional and clinical skills, receive guidance and mentorship, and better prepare for careers in behavioral health and human services. When resources are available, we also seek to provide financial support to eligible interns to help reduce the financial burden associated with completing required internships and field-based educational experiences. Beyond behavioral health treatment and education, we connect individuals and families with critical community resources that promote healthy living, housing stability, education, employment, personal growth, and long-term independence. We collaborate with local organizations, educational institutions, businesses, and housing initiatives to strengthen our community and create pathways to wellness, education, professional growth, stability, and hope. At Uplift Behavioral Health Services Cares, we believe that uplifting a community means not only addressing immediate mental health needs but also investing in education, supporting future behavioral health professionals, reducing financial barriers, and creating opportunities for individuals and families to build stronger futures.
Our Vision
Vision Statement Our vision is to create a community where every person has access to affordable, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health care. Uplift Behavioral Health Services Cares strives to make behavioral health and housing support available to all, breaking the cycle of inequality and limited access. We envision a future where mental wellness, physical health, and safe housing work hand-in-hand—empowering individuals and families to thrive. Through collaboration, compassion, and community engagement, and education we aim to build a healthier, stronger, and more inclusive society.

Our Story
How We Got Here
Uplift Behavioral Health Services Cares was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care. Our founders — clinicians and community advocates who had witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of untreated mental illness and addiction — set out to build something different.
From the beginning, we committed to serving the most vulnerable members of our community: the uninsured, the underinsured, those navigating poverty and housing instability, and those whose cultural backgrounds had long been overlooked by mainstream mental health systems.
Today, Uplift offers a full continuum of behavioral health services — from individual and family therapy to community support programs, medication management, and in-home services. We also invest in the next generation of behavioral health professionals through our internship and education program, ensuring that the field reflects the communities it serves.
